Female Actresses From The 1960’s
Good morning all! And welcome back to my tenth blog. Today I’m going to be talking about famous actresses from the 1960’s. The actresses I’m going to be discussing are Elizabeth Taylor, Maureen O’Hara and Shirley MacLaine.
Elizabeth Taylor was a stunning looking woman. She was very famous in the 1960’s. She is best known for her role as ‘Cleopatra’. She starred in many movies from the 1960’s such as ‘Cleopatra’, ‘The Taming Of The Shrew’ and ‘The Sandpiper’. ‘Cleopatra’ was best known as the Queen of Egypt. She then encountered both conquer and calamity as she tries to resist monarchical ambitions of Rome.
‘The Taming Of The Shrew’ ’ is about a scoundrel names Petruchio who learns to subdue his wealthy, shrewish wife, Katharina. ‘The Sandpiper’ a single mother forms a relationship with the wed principal of a boarding school run by bishops in California.
Maureen O’Hara (picture above) is a very famous Irish actress. She was born in Ranelagh a village on the south side of Dublin. She supported Shamrock Rovers!She starred in movies such as ‘The Parent Trap’, ‘Mr Hobbs Takes A Vacation’, and ‘Spencer’s Mountain’.
‘The Parent Trap’ tells the story of twin juvenile sisters who swap places to try and reunite their detached parents. They made a remake of the movie in 1998 starring ‘Lindsay Lohan’ who played the twin teenage sisters trying to reunite their detached parents together.
‘Mr. Hobbs Takes A Vacation’ Mr. Hobbs wants to have a quiet getaway at the beach but, his wife invites their family to stay with them.
‘Spencer’s Mountain‘is about a man named clay spencer who is a diligent man. He is cherished by his neighbours and is always ready to help them in any way that he can. His one dream in life is to construct his wife a house on a piece of land he took over on ‘Spencer Mountain’, tells the story of when his eldest son, Clay boy, graduates at the peak of his high school class and has the chance to go to college, Clay has only one option left to him.
‘Shirley MacLaine’ was a very famous actress in the 1960’s. She was very good friends with ‘Dean Martin.’ ‘Shirley MacLaine’ is an actress, singer, dancer, activist and author. She was in films such as ‘The Children’s Hour’, ‘Irma La Douce’, and ‘The Apartment’.
‘Sweet Charity’ Charity is a taxi dancer who wishes she would meet a pleasant young man who would come along and romance her away from her immoral lifestyle. May be, just maybe, Oscar will be the one to do it.
‘Irma La Douce’ a policeman in Paris falls head over heels with a gigolo. He endeavours to get her out of that lifestyle by paying for all of her time.
‘The Apartment’story of a man who’s trying to grow within his company by allowing its senior administrator use his apartment for an engagement, but problems and a romance of his own arise.
